Spamhaus Listings Explained

When an IP is blacklisted, we query the exact blocklist database it appears on:

  • SBLSpamhaus Block List: Verified sources of spam messages.
  • XBLExploits Block List: IPs infected by illegal 3rd party exploits, including open proxies, worms, and Trojans with built-in spam engines.
  • PBLPolicy Block List: End-user IP space that should not be delivering unauthenticated SMTP email to standard servers.
  • CSSCSS Block List: IPs sending snowshoe spam or demonstrating poor list hygiene.
Why Check Blacklists?
  • Deliverability: If your mail server IP is listed, your outgoing emails are likely bouncing or landing in spam folders.
  • Server Security: A blacklisted server IP can indicate that your machine has been compromised.
